I love fashion. It creates a sense of excitement, wonder and makes me hungry for more. I love looking at styles, cuts, colours and ways in which pieces can be worn. I especially love high-fashion, couture pieces that bring fairytales to reality and make a woman feel dreamy and beautiful...like a princess. If any Australian designer can create pieces with all of the above in mind, it has to be Mr. Alex Perry.
A huge fan of his pieces, I adore the label even more now I own my very own Alex Perry dress: a one-off piece modelled by Catriona Rowntree as seen in Australian Women's Weekly July issue.

The Redken ladies pampered us to samples and hair touch-ups in their pop-up salon.

THE SHOW: The Alex Perry show at RSFF started with Alex Perry filmed live backstage explaining his new collection, Arabian Summer which is a sexy, feminine collection with to-die-for pieces you will want to buy (even if you do not have an occasion to wear them to!)
While some pieces can be worn by day and night, others are strictly fairytale, and princess-like.
If I had not chosen my wedding dress already, I would have seriously considered some of the dreamy pieces from Arabian Summer to wear on my wedding day. Each style is certainly unique, and as Alex likes to say, they "Look Expensive".

I introduce to you Alex Perry's Arabian Summer 2010 collection:

The absolutely adorable Sam Harris - one of my favourite models.
The King of Couture was exactly as how I imagined: Alex was cool, calm and collected. The sunnies sat firmly on the top of his head and he spoke to the audience with confidence, his voice unwavering.
It was great to see Alex Perry talk to the crowd about his favourite pieces and speak about some of the models in the show because it made the whole experience more personal and showed that he does not see models as simply 'clothes horses'.
I have a feeling that Australia's Next Top Model were filming the show because three of the contestants were chosen to walk in the show and they were interviewed by Alex while he was on stage.
The stunning 'Arabian Summer' makeup as worn in RAFW in May 2010.
BACK STAGE: After the show, Nicole whisked Elise and I backstage so we could find out more about the hair and makeup looks chosen as well as see how everything works behind the scenes:
Hair: tall and teased slicked-back hair completed with hair wefts/extensions to give length & fullness.
Makeup: sculpted, flawless complexion with deep bronzed cheeks, smokey winged-eye with silver on the inner corners of eyes, silver glitter spattered over model's foreheads & nude glossy lips to complete.
Thank you so much to Nicole for inviting me and Napoleon Perdis cosmetics for having me at Alex Perry's wonderful show...I had so much fun. I will be talking about it for months!
