The look was colourful and fun yet polished, and with a deep turquoise eye, the lips were kept nude.
How-To Achieve the Daytime Glamour Look:
- Start with a clean face by removing any traces of makeup including old eyeliner and mascara.
- Apply a good moisturiser so skin holds your base longer. If you have oily skin then be sure to use a matte moisturiser.
- Prime and apply a yellow-based foundation with a slightly dewy finish. I used Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup. Blend it past the jawline so there is not harsh line..
- Lightly powder the skin with a pressed powder in the same tone as your skin - be careful not to over-do it.
- Apply a light dusting of bronzer over the forehead, down the bridge of the nose and just above and under the jawline. NOTE: make it really subtle just to give the face a hint of warmth.
- Apply a rosy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks. I wore Napoleon Perdis Mosaic Blusher.
- Dust off excess blush off the powder and gently blend the blush over the apples of the cheeks so it does not look harsh. Gradually add a little more for a rosier cheek.
- Prime eyes with an eyelid primer to help eye makeup stay, and prevent eyeshadow from creasing.
- Apply a soft gold powder eyeshadow from the inner corner and take it outwards to about 1/2 of the eyelid. I used Benefit Velvet Eye Shadow in 'Like Mink'.
- Gently press our eye shadow a turquoise shimmer powder eye shadow and dab it (not rub) in to the out corner of the eye. I used Benefit Velvet Eye Shadow in 'Raining Men'. Very gently blend it in to a v-shape: blend the shadow in along the top of the eye lid about 2/3 of the way in. Then blend it in to the crease without taking it in all of the way - about 1/2 way is good.
- To reserve this look for day time there is no need for eye liner.
- Apply a touch of highlighter powder along the brow bone to prevent a harsh finish line and to emphasise eyes.
- Load up your lashes with black or charcoal grey mascara for emphasis. I used Lancome Hypnose Drama in Silver-Grey.
- Fill in brows with a complementing eyeshadow to give the look a clean and polished look.
- Apply a soft pink lipstick and a touch of pink gloss... and voila! You're done.
