On Day One of Australian Beauty Blogger Weekend I created a summer turquoise look called Daytime Glamour. Day Two was another day of meet and greets with Bloggers and brand reps so I wore one of my favourite Cue corporate dresses - a soft grey knee-length dress, along with my black ZARA blazer. I wanted the make up look to be soft and beautiful, and with purple being the colour of the moment, I had to incorporate purple eye shadow and fuschia lips in to my look.
TIP: If you have green eyes then purple is the purrfect shade for you!
- Start with a clean face by removing any traces of makeup including old eyeliner and mascara.
- Apply a good moisturiser so skin holds your base longer. If you have oily skin then be sure to use a matte moisturiser.
- Prime and apply a yellow-based foundation with a slightly dewy finish. I used Gorgeous Cosmetics Base Perfect Foundation. Blend it past the jawline so there is not harsh line..
- Lightly powder the skin with a pressed powder in the same tone as your skin - be careful not to over-do it.
- Apply a light dusting of bronzer over the forehead, down the bridge of the nose and just above and under the jawline. NOTE: make it really subtle just to give the face a hint of warmth.
- Apply a rosy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.
- Dust off excess blush off the powder and gently blend the blush over the apples of the cheeks so it does not look harsh. Gradually add a little more for a rosier cheek.
- Prime eyes with an eyelid primer to help eye makeup stay, and prevent eyeshadow from creasing. I love Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eye Primer.
- Apply a soft purple matte eye shadow across the entire eyelid.
- For a little shimmer gently press a loose eye shadow over the powder eye shadow - I used Napoleon Perdis Loose Eye Dust #26.
- To reserve this look for day time there is no need for eye liner.
- Apply a touch of highlighter powder along the brow bone and above the apples of the cheeks to blend the blush. I adore Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick.
- Load up your lashes with black or charcoal grey mascara for emphasis.
- Remember to apply clear or tinted brow gel to brows to prevent them from going unruly.
- Fill in brows with a complementing eyeshadow to give the look a clean and polished look.
- Apply a sexy fuschia-purple lipstick to complete the look.
