Review: I instantly
fell in love with Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush - all those
pretty pink hearts were just too cute to pass up! It is almost a shame to use the blusher
and ruin the pretty design. The blush contains a light to darker variety of
pink in complementary tones, all with various amounts of glitter and sheen. At
first I was a little worried that it would be too dark as well as it would be
way too shiny and glittery, a concern that stems from having combination skin. But I needn’t have
worried as it just adds a subtle touch of glow and sheen to my cheeks. As for
the colours, even though they look dark in the compact, and I thought that it
was better suited to those with darker skin tones. Again I did not need to
worry, once applied they appear soft and glowing, very natural and sheer and perfect for those with fair skin. However, it can easily be layered for a more intense look.
The colours
in the compact blend together for a nice overall hue to the cheeks, leaving
behind a nice radiance as well. For extra pop of colour, or for a darker look,
it is easy to simply just sweep the brush over one of the darker hearts and
apply it to your cheeks to define and contour, or apply right below the
cheekbones for a more defined and dramatic look. The lighter
colours work as a highlighter too. The blush is ultra-smooth and
light weight. The pigments are so finely milled that it blends easily, and feels
comfortable to wear, as well looking natural on the skin. It has great staying power, I find that I do not need to touch up doing the day.
Happy
Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush is infused with Euphoryl (natural plant
extracts) which claim to promote the feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect
of endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. To be
very honest, I do not think that using the Happy Booster Glow & Mood
Boosting Powder made me any happier - but I do enjoy using it! Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting
Blush is further more enriched with a violet scent which was the first
thing I noticed when I took the powder out if its packaging. The fragrance does
not last on my skin at all, and while this is a lovely touch, and does not cause any issues for my skin, I would prefer it to be fragrance free.
Happy
Booster Blush is hypo-allergenic, dermatologist approved, non-comedogenic as
well as paraben free, which is all fantastic, but again as mentioned above, I
also wish that it was perfume free. Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting
Powder comes in a pink metallic compact that I must admit I find a little too
bulky. In saying that, I do not normally carry my blusher around with me for
touch ups during the day, so I can certainly see past this. As for the metallic
pink colour of the case, I find that it looks a little too girly and cheap. But
I do like that it has a compartment containing the little brush as well as a
mirror, both of which are handy for touch ups on the go. The brush is half pink
and half red and quite cute, although I find that it is a little too stiff. The brush is too small to properly allow you to sweep it over the palette, making it difficult to achieve an even look. I found I got a much nicer and a more even
result from using one of my own soft blush brushes. The powder retails for
$21.95, and all in all it is a fantastic buy, that gives my face a much
needed pop of colour as we head into spring. I highly recommend it, and would
consider purchasing in the future.
